Course Overview: STOP THE BLEED® is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action endorsed by the American College of Surgeons. It is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. we are proud to offer STOP THE BLEED® training sessions designed to teach you how to stop bleeding in emergency situations. This life-saving program is suitable for individuals of all backgrounds and professions, aiming to increase the survivability from emergency bleeding situations.
Target Audience: This course is essential for everyone, as emergencies can happen anywhere – at work, at home, and in public places. It is especially beneficial for non-medical personnel, including corporate employees, educators, school staff, security personnel, and anyone interested in acquiring critical skills to save lives.
Course Objectives: Upon completion of the STOP THE BLEED® course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize life-threatening bleeding and act quickly and effectively to control it.
- Use their hands to apply direct pressure at the site of the wound.
- Properly apply dressings and tourniquets.
- Understand how to provide effective, immediate response in bleeding emergencies.
Course Content:
- The ABCs of bleeding as a response strategy: Alert, Bleed, Compress.
- How to safely and effectively apply pressure to a wound.
- Correct application of tourniquets and wound packing techniques.
- Strategies for identifying life-threatening bleeding and acting within critical moments.
- Hands-on practice sessions with realistic simulation models.
Learning Methods:
- Interactive lectures and discussions facilitated by certified STOP THE BLEED® instructors.
- Hands-on practice with the latest bleeding control techniques and tools.
- Scenario-based exercises to enhance decision-making and response skills.
Certification: Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a STOP THE BLEED® completion certificate, recognizing their ability to perform life-saving bleeding control techniques.

All AHA classes require you to have a student workbook. If you have a student workbook from a previous class you may bring it. The Book is included in the class if you do not have one. Digital Student Workbook- This is a digital copy of your student workbook that will be stored and downloadable through the AHA website. If you opt in for a digital workbook you will receive a code and instructions to claim the code on your confirmation email. The Digital Student Workbook cannot be lost as is nice for a quick reference from anywhere!
