Our Cost INCLUDES the cost of the online Instructors Essentials Pre-Course, and your Required BLS Instructor Manual. The instructor Manual is available as a paper copy or Digital copy.

 

Target Audience: This specialized course is tailored for individuals eager to become certified instructors in Basic Life Support, extending to healthcare professionals, emergency responders, and anyone passionate about imparting life-saving skills. Ideal candidates include nurses, physicians, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, and others who currently hold a valid AHA BLS Provider card and meet the American Heart Association's (AHA) prerequisites.

Course Overview: The BLS Instructor Certification Course is meticulously designed to prepare participants for teaching the AHA's BLS courses. This comprehensive training not only focuses on the critical life-saving skills of CPR, AED use, and choking relief for all ages but also emphasizes effective teaching methodologies, deep understanding of AHA's CPR and ECC guidelines, and skills for promoting engaging and informative learning environments.

Course Objectives: Successful participants will:

  • Master and convey the essential skills and knowledge of BLS, aligning with the latest CPR and ECC guidelines.
  • Implement adult learning principles to effectively teach, assess, and offer constructive feedback to students.
  • Navigate and utilize AHA instructor materials and resources with confidence.
  • Ensure BLS courses are conducted in strict adherence to AHA standards and policies.
  • Provide mentorship to fellow BLS instructors in line with AHA requirements.

Certification: Participants who meet all course requirements, including a successfully monitored teaching session, will be awarded a BLS Instructor certification, valid for two years. Maintaining this certification necessitates adherence to the AHA's stringent instructor guidelines and ongoing participation in instructor updates.

Prerequisites for Enrollment:

  • A current AHA BLS Provider certification showcasing proficiency in BLS skills.
  • Submission of an instructor candidate application as mandated by either the AHA or the sponsoring training center.
  • Completion/purchase of the BLS Instructor's Essentials online (https://shopcpr.heart.org/bls-instructor-essentials-online) This can also be purchased through us.
Add-On Info All AHA classes require you to have a student workbook. If you have a student workbook from a previous class you may bring it. The Book is included in the class if you do not have one. Digital Student Workbook- This is a digital copy of your student workbook that will be stored and downloadable through the AHA website. If you opt in for a digital workbook you will receive a code and instructions to claim the code on your confirmation email. The Digital Student Workbook cannot be lost as is nice for a quick reference from anywhere! Add a mask, keychain face shield, or Narcan/Naloxone to complete your first aid kit and be prepared for an emergency today.

We also do not limit ourselves to normal business hours offering courses most days and times which include most holidays, night courses (yes, even overnight), and weekends with instructor availability.
